Secure IC Solutions Architect

At indie Semiconductor, we are empowering the Autotech revolution with next-generation automotive semiconductors and software platforms. We focus on edge sensors spanning multiple modalities, including LiDAR, radar, ultrasound, and vision for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, connected car, user experience, and electrification applications.

As a Principal, SOC Security Architect and Engineer, you will lead the evaluation of security threats, define security features, and implement security solutions across most of our new product's generation. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to integrate secure design methodologies seamlessly into our product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement security requirements and architectures for SOC designs.
  • Architect robust security solutions in both hardware (HW) and software (SW).
  • Develop and execute evaluation plans for HW and SW security implementations.
  • Analyze hardware and software attack vectors specific to automotive applications.
  • Collaborate closely with the development team to integrate secure design practices throughout the IC development lifecycle.
  • Conduct security assessments, risk analysis, and vulnerability testing at the architecture level.
  • Lead the selection and integration of third-party IP and components with a strong emphasis on security compliance and performance optimization.
  • Drive the development of secure boot processes, encryption schemes, and overall security strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to advancing secure IC design methodologies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in automotive IC security to drive innovation within the team.
  • Communicate effectively with multi-functional teams to ensure cohesive integration of security systems.

Main Requirements

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in IC design architecture with a significant focus on cybersecurity, particularly in automotive applications.
  • Strong skills with defining and implementing security requirements and architectures for SOC designs.
  • Proven track record of bringing at least 2 products with robust cybersecurity features into production.
  • Expertise in defining encryption schemes, secure boot processes, and overall security strategies for MCU-based IC architectures.
  • Familiarity with ISO/SAE 21434 and other relevant automotive cybersecurity standards.
  • Proficiency in IC design tools and methodologies (e.g., RTL design, verification, synthesis).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct thorough security assessments and risk analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and compliance related to automotive cybersecurity is advantageous.
