Transformative Network Security Leadership Opportunity

HSBC is seeking a visionary Principal Enterprise Network Security Architect to spearhead the development of innovative digital solutions and drive the future state architecture vision for our Global Businesses and Global Functions.

About the Role:

  • Define and maintain the network security architecture strategy and roadmap, incorporating Network Segmentation as HSBC segments its network.
  • Provide assurance of Solutions Designs produced and support the Engineering teams in production of Execution plans in executing the Strategies.
  • Manage the Solution Architects who write the designs and patterns for Network Security initiatives across the Bank.
  • Work closely with business partners to translate their requirements into integrated solutions that can be deployed globally using consistent service patterns for ease of deployment, support, and enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write documents that show how HSBC will segment its network, host the applications that earn HSBC Net Interest Income and Net Fee Income, deliver authentication and access control to the network layer, provide software defined network security in conjunction with the application developers in the business.
  • Have a deep understanding of the various platforms that support Network security in the bank.
  • Investigate the practices, processes, operating model, techniques, products, services, technologies, and standards of peers and hyperscalars to understand where HSBC can learn from them.
  • Influence HSBC's business and technology executives to help them align their initiatives with standardised offerings in Network Security.
  • Represent the HSBC Cybersecurity Architecture practice at governance forums to drive the adoption of the strategies and associated blueprints.

Requirements:

  • High-level business understanding of Networks Security for HSBC's three global businesses and supporting functions.
  • Broad knowledge of security across other domains including IAM, App Sec, Cyber Threat Management, Infrastructure, and Data security.
  • Experience with industry Cloud technologies (Amazon Web Service, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMWare, MVS, Xen, Virtual Box, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Big Data platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of key IT domains particularly computing platforms (Windows, UNIX, and Linux) and networking technologies including SDN, routing, and enterprise network designs.
