About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing library resources, promoting literacy, and fostering a love for reading within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:">
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors.
  • Develop and maintain the library's collection by selecting, acquiring, cataloguing, and organising materials.
  • Promote and develop a love for reading and literature to all children.
  • Coordinate with other subject departments to help support curriculum plans.
  • Take a leading role in organising the school events for World Book Day.
  • Maintain accurate records of library loans, returns, and inventory management.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in library services.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of children and their needs.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail for managing collections and resources efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using library management systems and digital resources.
  • A passion for literature and a commitment to promoting reading within the school.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and user needs within the library setting.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
