About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Overhead Lines Infrastructure Technician to join our team in the southwest Chilterns, Borehamwood and Bedford/Cambridge area.

Job Summary

This is a key role that involves leading teams of 2- or 3-person teams in the erection of poles, changing transformers and carrying out any other overhead line work that may be required. The successful candidate will have experience working on an Overhead Lines electrical network and hold relevant qualifications such as EUSR or CSCS Card, First Aid Qualification, Pole Top Rescue, IPAF 1B Qualification, Manual Handling, Working at Height, Winch operation, NRSWA Qualification, DNO operational authorisation (UKPN), and Clean Driving Licence.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. They will also have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out all work in accordance with UK Power Networks' standards, policies and procedures.
  • Install, build and refurbish overhead lines up to 33kV.
  • Conform to all instructions stated in method statements and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with Site Supervisors regarding specific site issues.
