Job Description: Lead Microbiome Analyst

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Microbiome Analyst to join our team in the Cambridge area. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth analyses of microbial genomic data and developing new bioinformatics tools and pipelines to provide novel biological insights.

About the Role:

The Lead Microbiome Analyst will play a key role in supporting the development of oral precision microbiome medicines, focusing on clinical trials and functional analyses. This includes conducting association analyses of large-scale biological datasets with clinical metadata, identifying opportunities for improvement in existing processes, and providing analytical and bioinformatics support across the company.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain complex computational models and algorithms for analysing large-scale biological datasets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise projects and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Design, implement, and maintain software systems and databases to support data analysis and storage.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on bioinformatics-related topics to non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • MSc or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java.
Estimated Salary:$110,000 - $140,000 per annum.
