About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Stroke Medicine Consultant to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with acute and rehabilitation stroke needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical opinion on a full range of acute medical conditions, including medical emergencies.
  • Take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of patient care.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council.
  • MRCP.
  • Higher Training in General Internal Medicine and Stroke Medicine, Geriatrics, Neurology or Rehabilitation Medicine as required for CCT.
  • Entry onto the Specialist Registrar or a UK SpR within 6 months of CCT date at interview.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate degree (e.g. MD, PhD, MSc).
  • Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Experience in teaching juniors, medical students, and allied health professionals.
  • NIHR Good Clinical Practice certification.
