Senior Character TD Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Character TD to join our team at DNEG, a leading visual effects company. As a Character TD, you will be responsible for creating animation rigs for characters, creatures, props, and vehicles. This is a team effort, so you will work closely with our Rigging Supervisors and Animation Leads/Supervisors to develop the most suitable rigging solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement complex character rigs using Maya.
  2. Collaborate with the animation team to ensure seamless integration of character rigs into the animation pipeline.
  3. Develop and maintain proprietary tools to aid in creating animation rigs.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience with significant creature/character projects.
  2. Thorough knowledge of character specialisation (i.e., body, face, mechanical rigs).
  3. Full working knowledge of Maya.
  4. Strong visual and artistic skills.
  5. Familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical character/creature-heavy post-production environment.
  6. Extensive understanding of human and animal anatomy.
  7. Understanding of the fundamental laws of physics.
  8. Proficiency in mathematics (linear algebra).
  9. Fundamental animation knowledge.
