We invite applications for a PhD studentship to join our innovative community of researchers exploring the intersection of digital technology and physical items at Digital Preservation Coalition. This opportunity allows you to delve into the world of Digital Twins, examining how digital tools can transform human interaction with the physical environment.
In this role, you will work closely with our team to develop digital surrogates of items in Oxford Brookes Library and Special Collections, leveraging the Chris Fowler Artist Book collection as a case study. By rethinking traditional approaches to digital surrogates, you will contribute to the evolution of post-digital publishing and artist books.
Your research will take place in state-of-the-art facilities at Oxford Brookes University, providing you with unparalleled opportunities for growth and development.
Project Objectives:
- Create a digital sibling of the library within a new building in Headington Hill
- Host surrogate publications and re-imagine collections
- Catalyse engagement and become a living laboratory for making post-digital publications
Salary: £27,200 per annum
