Tyre Performance Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tyre Performance Engineer to join our team in Oxfordshire. As a key member of our electric motorsport team, you will be responsible for optimizing tyre usage during track tests and events to ensure peak performance in qualifying and races.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Optimize tyre usage during track tests and events to ensure peak performance in qualifying and races.
  2. Support trackside tyre performance engineering through test planning and analysis.
  3. Prepare pre-event tyre reports with recommendations for tyre preparation and usage.
  4. Provide data-driven feedback for tyre model development used in simulations and simulators.
  5. Assist in post-event tyre correlation with drivers and report findings.
  6. Communicate tyre performance data to drivers and engineers.

Requirements

  1. Strong knowledge and background in Vehicle Dynamics.
  2. Experience in Vehicle Dynamics modelling (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, SimPack, Dymola, Adams).

Desirable Skills

  1. Trackside experience in a high-level motorsport series.
  2. Trackside experience in managing tyre preparation.
  3. Tyre modelling experience (e.g. Matlab, Simulink).
  4. Experience in developing tyre thermo-mechanical, high-fidelity, or physical models (e.g. brush models, FE models).
  5. Experience in tyre testing (indoor and outdoor), including planning, execution, and data analysis.
