Early Literacy Coach

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Volunteer Crewmate to join our team at The Literacy Pirates. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for supporting children aged 9-13 who are struggling with their reading and writing skills.
Our approach is centered around creating a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages children to take risks, explore their creativity, and develop a growth mindset.
Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one and small group support to children to help them improve their reading and writing skills.
- Work closely with our staff team to lead and manage sessions, ensuring a smooth and productive experience for all participants.
- Help children develop their confidence and self-esteem through positive reinforcement and encouragement.
- Aged 16+
- UK resident, able to commute to our Hackney location
- Ability to complete a DBS check (covered by us)
- Fully trained and supported throughout your volunteering journey

We offer an estimated salary of £16-20 per hour, depending on experience, and a range of benefits including employment references, work placements, and Tempo Time Credits.
