Key Responsibilities:
  • Caseload Management: Deliver a comprehensive Habilitation programme for your assigned caseload, using your specialist knowledge to maximise their potential for independence and develop essential life skills.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of national standards to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for our service users.
  • Collaboration: Work as part of a small yet highly experienced team, providing high-quality support to children and young people across the borough.
  • Flexibility: Provide support in various settings, including schools, homes, and community locations, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
  • Professional Development: Contribute to the development of our service, promoting independence and driving innovation in Special Educational Needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A proven track record as a Habilitation Specialist or a qualified Rehabilitation Worker (with Foundation Degree in Rehabilitation Work, Vision Impairment) willing to undertake additional recognised qualifications.
  • A good understanding of quality standards for Habilitation and the ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, families, and professionals.
  • Experience working with children with vision impairment is highly desirable.
