About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team of foster carers. As a foster carer, you will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people in need.

Types of Fostering

We offer various types of fostering opportunities, including:

  • Mainstream Foster Care: Providing a stable home life for children and siblings between the ages of 0-18.
  • Children with Disabilities: Caring for children with additional needs/disabilities between the ages of 0-18.
  • Short Breaks for Children with Disabilities: Offering respite care for children with disabilities, enabling them to have enjoyable experiences and develop independence skills.
  • Supported Lodgings: Providing a supportive environment for young people aged 16+ to learn independent living skills.
What We Offer

As a foster carer with Leeds City Council, you will receive:

  • A generous fee and allowance for the child and car mileage.
  • Your own experienced Supervising Social Worker for regular supervisions and support.
  • An 'out of hours' telephone service staffed by experienced Foster Carers 24/7.

  • A community of foster carers for support and advocacy.

Requirements

To become a foster carer, you must:

  • Have at least one spare bedroom in your home.
  • Be able to provide a safe and stable environment for a child or young person.
  • Have the time and energy to meet the emotional and physical needs of a child or young person.
