Role Overview

This role reports directly to the Team Leader(s) and involves working collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing precision machined components with accuracy and speed, adhering to set standards and schedules.
  • This includes setting up and operating multiple-axis CNC machines with various controllers, ensuring efficient production while maintaining product quality.
  • The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in programming parts online, either fully or partially, and possess excellent record-keeping skills.
  • They must also provide constructive feedback to senior programmers and manufacturing engineers to refine workholding methods, programs, and machining techniques.
  • This role demands agility, adaptability, and strong teamwork skills to maximize output without compromising product quality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture precision machined components accurately and efficiently according to job packs and engineering drawings.
  • Operate multi-axis CNC machines with different controllers to achieve optimal production outcomes.
  • Program parts online, fully or partially, using various tools and software.
  • Maintain accurate records of programs, tooling, and inspections for all produced components.
  • Collaborate with senior programmers and manufacturing engineers to enhance workholding methods, programs, and machining techniques.
  • Support the Shift Lead(s) in managing workflow within your machining cell to maximize output and maintain product quality.
Requirements
  • Must be an experienced machinist with a proven track record, backed by a recognized level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in setting up and operating multi-axis machining centers is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with small batch precision components, preferably in demanding environments such as motorsport, aerospace, or similar fields.
  • Previous on-machine programming experience is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems and software is required.
