At Nationwide, we are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join our People Function. In this role, you will provide expert advice and support on people issues to all employees and managers across our business areas.


This is a 6-month fixed-term role within the People community, which supports employees and managers in the business with any people issues. We offer hybrid working wherever possible, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate while also supporting access to home working.


As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will act as the first point of contact on all new cases raised by employees and managers relating to our Fair Treatment at work policies. You will triage each case based on the information provided, as well as background information, to allocate to the right member of the wider HR Case Management team.


You will provide first-line advice by MS Teams or email, offering timely, pragmatic, and accurate guidance on people management issues, including poor performance, attendance and sickness absence, and misconduct concerns.


You will help ensure a fair, consistent, and robust approach is adopted to performance management across the business to maximize performance outputs and focus on our strategic drivers.


The ideal candidate will have generalist HR/ER or people management experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build strong and effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
