Job Description

This newly created role will be responsible for proactively managing Renesas' compliance with employment law and regulations, providing counsel to HR Teams and Business Leaders on escalated employment matters across all countries in which the company's workforce operates.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a subject matter expert in all areas of employment, ensuring best practice in Employee Relations related topics.
  • Working closely with HR Regional leads, our internal legal team and external counsel, create and regularly update a comprehensive compliance/legal framework related to employment law in all jurisdictions and lead the implementation of approaches where gaps are identified.
  • Act as a knowledge expert for compliance-based audits as well as helping review policies from other departments to ensure alignment with HR policies.
  • Provide support and guidance to leaders and HR team colleagues on a broad range of escalated employment issues, including internal investigations, employee relations issues, disciplinary processes, and code of conduct breaches.
  • Partner with regional HR leads to support integration of Human Resources policies across acquired organizations, ensuring a common understanding and interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to HR Operations teams to ensure systems and processes are built in alignment with local employment requirements for each jurisdiction.
  • Define strategies to build Employee Relations capability in HR teams and business leaders.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Employee Relations experience within a complex, fast-paced, global organization.
  • Experience in operating in multiple jurisdictions and partnering with legal advisors and local HR teams to ensure appropriate application of policy and process.
  • Commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving and assessment of risk.
  • Persuasive and articulate communication in English.
  • Broad knowledge of addressing and conducting investigations to achieve resolution and minimize risk.
  • High levels of integrity and collaboration.
