Chemical Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Safety Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting a culture of safety across all aspects of our operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on chemical regulations, including GHS, REACH, CLP, ADR, and UN codes, to ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee awareness and understanding of chemical safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential regulatory compliance risks.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of high-quality Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in accordance with GHS requirements.
  • Champion safe storage, handling, and transportation practices for chemicals throughout our facilities.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and technology transfer between operating companies regarding chemical formulations, manufacturing processes, and safety information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Formal training in GHS, ADR, IMDG codes, including UN Codes for packaging and labeling.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience preparing SDS to GHS standards.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the formulation, manufacture, or use of chemicals within the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
