About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our Operations Team at Instarmac Group plc. as a permanent member of staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on all Health and Safety related matters and promote a positive culture and approach towards health, safety, environment, and sustainability.
  • Establish and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures to maintain high standards.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs.
  • Monitor industry trends and H&S legislation changes, advising management on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and spot check audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide expert advice on H&S related issues, acting as the primary point of contact relating to Health and Safety matters.
  • Manage the site's waste streams alongside overall improvement plans to reduce waste generated in all departments.
  • Analyse data and utilise KPIs to identify improvements in all areas relating to H&S.
  • Maintain and update HSE records and documentation, including logs, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
  • Develop and monitor HSE training programs for all employees at all levels, ensuring they understand and comply with safety awareness and procedures.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of HSE practices through the health and safety committee, ongoing education, and communications.
  • Mentor and support all staff in implementing HSE initiatives and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HSE programs and initiatives to enhance workplace safety and environmental performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE programs, recommending improvements when necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning through to execution.
  • Coordinate and conduct emergency drills and training requirements such as first aid and fire Marshall.

Requirements

  • Nebosh General Certificate or similar.
  • Demonstrable and proven track record in the use of Quality tools such as 8D, FEMEA, Ishikawa, Root cause, Kaizen/Six Sigma & 5Y associated Quality tools.
