About the Role
DS Smith is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our Packaging site in Hinckley as an Apprentice Engineer Technician. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with hands-on operational experience and the chance to develop their skills in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance plans
- Carrying out reactive repair and improvement on equipment
- Sourcing spare parts and service contracts
- Continually looking at ways to improve Asset Performance
- Maintaining comprehensive equipment records
Requirements
GCSE English, Maths and Science at grade C or grade 4 or above or equivalent.

Assessment Process
Once you have gone through and initial screening process, you will be asked to complete an online Engineering Technician Aptitude Test. Successful candidates will then be invited to an Assessment Day (locations to be confirmed) in July. During this Assessment Day, you will take part in a number of individual and group activities and have a 1-2-1 interview with your Engineering Manager.
