Mechanical Maintenance Team Lead

As a Mechanical Maintenance Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are maintained throughout the delivery of work. This includes day-to-day management of the mechanical maintenance team, including assigning work packages, progress chasing, managing priorities and arising maintenance requirements from operational areas, and ensuring work is closed out within the maintenance management system.
You will work closely with the Maintenance Planner to develop job packs and maintenance schedules, interface with mechanical contractors, and provide first-line problem-solving for arising mechanical faults or work delivery problems. Additionally, you will contribute to continuous improvement activities and manage SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) requirements during maintenance tasks.
Key responsibilities include supervising maintenance mechanical technicians, directing them on mechanical breakdown repairs in accordance with site priorities, supporting projects and changeovers when required, and liaising with external OEM contractors to plan stat inspections and work alongside the Maintenance Planner to plan future PM tasks.
Essential qualifications include a HNC Mechanical Engineer/Technician or equivalent, or a time-served Mechanical apprentice with a minimum of 5 years' mechanical experience. Desirable qualifications include a rotating equipment specialist certification and IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) certification.
