Canon Precentor

The Canon Precentor is a key leadership role within the cathedral, responsible for the development and implementation of worship and pastoral programs. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the Church of England's mission and values, and will be able to work collaboratively with the Dean, clergy, and lay staff to achieve the cathedral's goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead worship programs that are inclusive, transformative, and of high quality.
- Collaborate with the Dean and other clergy to plan and deliver services that reflect the diversity of the cathedral's community.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to the choristers, their families, and adult music staff.
- Work with the Head of Music to develop and implement liturgical music programs.
- Support the cathedral's engagement with the wider diocese and city, and develop new liturgies to reflect the diversity of the community.
- Ordination in the Church of England for at least six years.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Commitment to the Church of England's mission and values.
