Green Cat Renewables Ltd is a dynamic and innovative company providing comprehensive technical services for renewable energy projects. As an Engineering Project Manager, you will join the team in Edinburgh or Glasgow to lead the delivery of various renewable energy projects and contribute to the expansion of the client base.

The company offers a range of services, including engineering consultancy and project management, covering planning condition discharge, civil and electrical design, hydrology and energy yield analysis, multi-technology system and control design, procurement, project finance technical assistance, contract preparation, negotiation, and management, site supervision, civil, mechanical, and electrical inspections, and other requirements related to wind, solar, BESS, hydrogen, and hybrid projects.

The Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Management of multiple renewable energy projects from initiation to completion.
  • Preparation and review of technical design elements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Development and management of procurement processes, including tenders for BoP, Civil, Electrical, and Equipment Supply.
  • Ensuring financial and technical targets are met throughout project delivery.
  • Effective risk management and reporting, identifying potential issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitation of agreements and contract negotiations with clients and stakeholders.
  • Leadership and supervision of in-house project teams and external contractors, ensuring timely and quality delivery of services and construction.
  • Communication with external stakeholders, including landowners, developers, community bodies, planning authorities, community relations, grid network operators, and other relevant parties.
  • Identification and tracking of project tasks and details, maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Update the project team on scope, status, changes, schedule, and expectations, ensuring effective communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Management of project progress from a task, time, schedule, and cost perspective, using tools and resources as necessary.
  • Management of changes in project scopes, identification of solutions for potential issues, and implementation of contingency plans as required.
  • Management of change orders, generation of necessary documentation, and negotiation of variations with clients.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in renewable energy project management, with a track record of delivering projects within scope, on time, and on budget.
  • Chartered Engineer status preferred, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Proven ability to facilitate multi-disciplinary collaboration and team effort, leading by example and empowering others to achieve excellence.
  • Ability to manage, mentor, motivate, and lead others, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in preparing pre-FEED and FEED level reports and documentation to inform investment decisions, with a keen eye for detail and analytical skills.
  • Problem analysis, deficiency identification, and resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Procurement knowledge, with the ability to provide guidance to procurement focal points and draft contracts (FIDIC/NEC experience preferred).
  • Knowledge and experience of the UK renewable industry, with an existing personal network and strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • A full UK driving license and willingness to travel within the UK when required.
