Head of Indirect Tax

Our Finance department is responsible for managing all direct and indirect taxes across the Group to ensure compliance with local regulations in each country that we operate in.

We're seeking a tax professional to support the Director of Tax in a specialist role working across a range of indirect tax compliance and advisory work. As a key member of the Tax Team, you'll be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading, supporting, and advising the tax compliance team on indirect tax treatment of new transactions.
  • Providing subject matter expertise on indirect tax matters and resolving queries from finance and business.
  • Ensuring technical accuracy of worldwide indirect tax filings, including those completed by the outsource provider.
  • Leading the implementation of VAT changes, process, and technology improvements with the VAT Project Manager and compliance team.
  • Identifying indirect tax changes impacting our business and advising on all necessary business changes as a consequence.
  • Leading regular indirect tax training to the team and wider functions.
  • Leading all indirect tax enquiries from tax authorities.
  • Providing insight into indirect taxes across the group and driving opportunities to improve cash/value.
  • Assisting the Director of Tax in project work as required, including determining the correct VAT treatment of restructures, new product, and service lines.
  • Supporting on M&A activity from an indirect perspective, including due diligence, structuring, and transitioning new business acquisitions.

We're looking for a technically strong and ATT/CTA qualified individual with at least 5 years of indirect tax experience. You'll have experience of preparing indirect tax returns either in practice or another in-house role. Strong Excel skills and system knowledge are essential, as is the ability to build a strong rapport with members of the Finance Team and the wider business teams.
