Retention Manager

The Retention Manager will lead the Student Retention team in supporting our faculties, developing and implementing a comprehensive student retention strategy to ensure student engagement and progression. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to adapt messages for a diverse audience and build positive relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement a student retention strategy aligned with GBS's goals and objectives.
- Lead the Student Retention team in delivering high-quality services to students, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with faculties, academic departments, and internal support services to ensure student engagement and progression.
- Develop and maintain effective operational processes and oversight to ensure student retention and progression.
- Work with the Planning, Information and Delivery team to prepare data for the Senior Management team and Academic Deans on students referred to the Student Retention Team.
- Take responsibility for the effective management, development, and performance review of staff within the section.
- Provide an annual review of student retention services, highlighting the impact on student progression and completion of courses.
- At least 2 years relevant experience in student retention, academic support, or a related field.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to adapt messages for a diverse audience.
- Ability to plan and prioritise effectively to achieve objectives, work collaboratively in a team, and build positive relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, with knowledge of PBI a plus.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Experience of building and leading high-performing teams.
