Retention Manager

GBS Global Applied Knowledge is seeking a highly skilled Retention Manager to lead our Student Retention team. As a key member of our academic support services, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive student retention strategy to ensure student success and progression.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a student retention strategy aligned with GBS's goals and objectives.
- Lead the Student Retention team to ensure effective student support and engagement.
- Collaborate with faculty members and internal stakeholders to develop innovative strategies for improving student performance.
- Monitor and track student referrals, ensuring timely and effective case management.
- Work with the Planning, Information and Delivery team to prepare data for senior management and academic deans on student retention and progression.
- Take responsibility for the effective management, development, and performance review of staff within the section.
- Provide an annual review of student retention services, highlighting the impact on student progression and completion of courses.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in student retention or academic support services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt messages for a diverse audience.
- Ability to plan and prioritize effectively, work collaboratively in a team, and build and maintain positive relationships with students.
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, with knowledge of PBI a plus.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Experience of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Ability to work independently within the wider goals of the organization.
The Retention Manager will also be expected to demonstrate their commitment to GBS values and regulations, including equal opportunities policy, and to their Health and Safety responsibilities to ensure a safe and secure working environment for staff, students, and other visitors to the campus.
