We are seeking a skilled and compassionate English tutor to provide academic support to school-age pupils in the Lincoln area. As an English Literacy Specialist, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of these students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong subject knowledge of the English curriculum and experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEMH). You will need to be able to build rapport with pupils, tailor your approach to meet their individual needs, and adapt to changing circumstances.

This part-time role offers a competitive hourly rate of £25-£35, depending on experience. We prefer candidates with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), but this is not essential. A full UK driving licence is desirable, as some pupils may require tuition at home or local libraries.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Professional teaching qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Excellent grasp of the English language
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
  • Strong subject knowledge of the English curriculum
  • Experience working with SEN/SEMH pupils
