Business Development Manager – Bioenergy/Renewable Energy

Location: Scotland (Highland, Moray and Aberdeenshire)

Job Type: Permanent

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our client's team, a rapidly growing developer of renewable energy facilities in the UK. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and development, focusing on bioenergy and renewable energy projects in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Feedstock Contract Development: Prepare and develop feedstock contracts to secure supply in accordance with project timelines.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with external stakeholders, including distilleries, farmers, contractors, lawyers, consultants, planning agents, and others involved in the projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Possess knowledge of the whisky/distillery industry, including technical understanding of the process involved in whisky production, including the evaluation of evaporators.
  • Commercial Expertise: Demonstrate commercial expertise with the ability to negotiate contracts.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to various locations in and around Scotland, as well as occasional visits to the London office and English sites.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree-level education in a relevant field.
  • Commercial and Technical Knowledge: Commercial and technical knowledge in the whisky industry.
  • Passion for Energy and Sustainability: A passion for energy and sustainability, with the ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
  • Full Driving License: Possess a full driving license and have access to your own car.

Key Skills:

  • Business Development: Proven experience in business development, with a focus on bioenergy and renewable energy.
  • Commercial Negotiation: Strong commercial negotiation skills, with the ability to secure contracts.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the whisky/distillery industry, including technical understanding of the process involved in whisky production.
