Lead Youth Worker

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people? Do you have a talent for inspiring and motivating young minds? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Youth Worker to join our team at One YMCA.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced youth worker to lead our team of youth workers in delivering high-quality youth and play work sessions. As a Lead Youth Worker, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging programmes that meet the needs of children and young people aged 5-18.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of youth workers to deliver youth and play work sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during term time.
  • Develop a holiday programme to meet the needs of the community alongside the Airplay staff team, Young People, and local RAF Community Support team.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to plan and deliver programmes that promote social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people at all times.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of working with children and young people in a youth work setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging programmes that meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Arrangements:

This is a part-time role, working 18 hours per week. The working pattern will include Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with flexible planning, preparation, and administration times agreed with your line manager.
