Power Transaction Specialist

Our Global Origination team is seeking an exceptional professional to expand our power transaction pipelines in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic relationships with counterparties and understand their commercial requirements.
  • Originate PPA transactions with asset owners, including fixed-price and day-ahead PPAs with CfD assets.
  • Identify and develop downstream power transaction opportunities with customers and counterparties to manage the company's physical and contractual asset portfolio.
  • Provide leadership for commercial initiatives and take accountability for negotiating, structuring, and executing structured power transactions to drive P&L growth.
  • Spot strategic commercial initiatives and champion them within the company.
  • Help maximize value associated with existing contracts and provide market input to the product management team.

Requirements

  • A strong network of relationships across the value chain, including producers, customers, and trading counterparties.
  • An established track-record of originating, negotiating, and closing diverse types of power transactions.
  • A sound understanding of the UK power market and regulatory developments.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a 'can do' attitude to develop the business.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative way of working.
  • An understanding of risk concepts, including credit, market, liquidity, and operational risks.
  • An understanding of various power transaction contracts.
