We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Clinical Anaesthetist to join our Department of Animal Welfare and Veterinary Services at our site in Huntingdon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for all clinical and A(SP)A-regulated work performed at the Animal Welfare and Veterinary Services Department.
  • Provision of peri-operative surgical support for the veterinary team, ensuring high standards of animal care and welfare are always maintained.
  • Liaise with and support Named Animal Care and Welfare Officers in the care of animals housed on site, in line with A(SP)A requirements.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a vet nurse/lab animal technician and familiarity with small and large animal species used in research environments. The salary for this role is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements
  • Vet nurse, experienced animal technician or other healthcare professional with evidence of anesthesia and/or surgery experience.
  • Familiarity with A(SP)A regulations and 3Rs principles.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory setting with laboratory animals.
