Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Management Accountant to play a key role in our finance team. As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting monthly management accounts, as well as preparing and reviewing financial statements. You will also be responsible for monthly journals, full balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, variance analysis, and working closely with business areas on budget setting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Management Accounts Preparation: Prepare and present monthly management accounts to the Group Reporting Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Monthly Journals: Prepare and post monthly journals for accruals and prepayments.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform full balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation.
  • Intercompany Reconciliations: Perform intercompany reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis and provide commentary on financial performance.
  • Budget Setting and Forecasting: Work closely with business areas to set budgets and forecasts.
  • Statutory Audits: Participate in statutory external audits.

Requirements

  • Accounting Knowledge: Keen understanding of month-end processes and accounting policies.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent MS Excel and analytical skills, with experience working with financial software, ideally Sage.
  • Experience: Experience in process review and effective management of networks and stakeholders.
  • Qualifications: Qualified or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
