Job Title: Principal Design Engineer

Keltbray Infrastructure Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Principal Design Engineer to join our team in Preston Brook, Cheshire.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned design engineer with experience in rail or civil engineering to lead our design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, preparing, and modifying designs, as well as coordinating technical and engineering activities within a specific engineering discipline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design team in the production of design calculations and drawings
  • Manage the interfacing of design teams with construction and commissioning teams
  • Assist in the determination of design scope and valuation of design elements
  • Undertake site surveys and maintain coordination of feasibility studies
  • Approve the work of design engineers and CAD technicians
  • Manage the application of design procedures to ensure compliance with quality and environmental procedures
  • Undertake consultancy projects as a senior project engineer
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
  • CEng status within a relevant Engineering Council Approved Body
  • Sound understanding of Network Rail's requirements regarding risk assessment
  • Knowledge of railway group and network rail company standards
  • Understanding of safety, quality, and environmental issues relevant to the railway environment
  • Experience in commercial and design processes
  • Ability to read contract requirements and implement technical requirements
  • Advanced Office 365 skills, specifically Excel
