Job Title: Clinical Lead Nurse Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Nurse Manager to join our team at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the clinical team at Ruby Lodge, a seven-bedded inpatient assessment lodge for children and young people with a primary diagnosis of a Learning Disability and associated Mental Health presentation.

As a Clinical Lead Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care through clear organisation of lodge processes, structured governance, and escalation routes. You will also provide clinical leadership and be a source of specialist clinical advice, having a working knowledge of specific therapeutic interventions, treatments, and clinical management strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage a diverse cohort of service users, delivering high-quality care through clear organisation of lodge processes, structured governance, and escalation routes.
  2. Demonstrate skills within assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care/treatment packages for children, young people, and families.
  3. Financial responsibility for the resources identified for the lodge, including staffing, environmental costs, and lodge resources.
  4. Ensure day-to-day operational management of the lodge is effective and efficient.
  5. Management of the E-roster system, ensuring safe levels of staffing are achieved.
  6. Provide line management and clinical supervision.
  7. Provide clinical leadership and be a source of specialist clinical advice.
  8. Ensure that the guiding principles of Clinical Governance are in place and utilised to maintain and enhance clinical practice and quality within the team.

Person Specification
  • RMN / RN (Mental Health) or RLDN / RN (Learning Disabilities) registration
  • Post-registration clinical training relevant to CAMHS Mental Health
  • Teaching and Assessing ENB 998 / Mentorship
  • Degree in a relevant subject
Experience
  • Post-registration experience of several years, including management within CAMHS/Mental Health at Band 6
  • Recruitment / Selection and general HR management
  • Budget management
  • Setting and auditing clinical standards
  • Utilisation of research in practice
  • Project management
