About the Role

GKN Aerospace is a leading manufacturer of complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components, and wing systems for civil and military aircraft. We are seeking a skilled fabricator to join our team at our Filton site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with a variety of industry equipment to carry out fabrication duties, including pipe bending, swaging, drilling, and reaming.
  • Manufacture aircraft parts using titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel materials.
  • Ensure parts are produced to a high standard, meeting quality and safety requirements.
  • Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system.
  • Highlight any non-conformances to the Process Team Leader.
  • Adhere to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures.
  • Accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974.
  • Hold first-party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval).
  • Responsible for general housekeeping within the area.
  • Compliant with all risk assessments and company Environment, Health & Safety Procedures relevant to all work activities.

Requirements

  • A recognized and relevant apprenticeship and relevant NVQ level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work to standard operating procedures.
  • Must be able to work in small teams with Team Leaders.
  • Self-motivated team player with good communication skills.
