Higher Level Teaching Assistant Role

About the Position:

Our established recruitment agency, LTF Recruitment, is currently seeking a skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a reputable secondary school in Long Eaton. This long-term opportunity has the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate, who will work closely with the class teacher and support pupils in their academic development. The successful candidate will possess a sound understanding of the curriculum and SEN needs, as well as excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the class teacher to provide educational support to students.
  2. Maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
  3. Conduct 1:1 interventions and group work to support students.
  4. Assume class responsibility in the absence of the class teacher.
  5. Plan and deliver targeted interventions to meet the needs of specific student groups.
  6. Utilize knowledge of the curriculum to support students with various SEN requirements.

Requirements:

  1. Possession of a relevant degree or HLTA qualification.
  2. Previous experience in an educational setting, preferably with a year or more of service.
  3. Understanding of diverse SEN needs and requirements.
  4. Ability to work effectively with students on an individual basis.
  5. Familiarity with the National Curriculum and capacity to develop knowledge as needed.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students.
