Job Title: Rotational Respiratory Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rotational Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary therapy service at Royal Brompton Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will work with adults and children with complex chronic heart and lung disease, providing specialist physiotherapy services in respiratory medicine, cardiothoracic surgery/cardiology, paediatric respiratory and surgical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced physiotherapeutic assessment and treatment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualised and specialised treatment programmes of care.
  • Manage own patient caseload and be responsible for a defined area of service or a particular patient type, working without direct supervision.
  • Supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students and junior physiotherapy staff.
  • Participate in active management of long-term patients with a tracheostomy and be responsible for their physical rehabilitation and ventilation progression.
Requirements:
  • Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) registration.
  • Postgraduate qualification in respiratory physiotherapy or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
