Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Leeds, UK (Hybrid)

Position Overview:

At Digital Waffle, we are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to enhance our development and deployment processes. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters, Docker containers, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters and orchestration.
  • Develop and maintain Docker containers.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software delivery process, e.g. GitLab.
  • Create and manage Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Write Python scripts for automation and custom tools.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system and application issues.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth deployments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or a similar role.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services and solutions.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Solid programming skills, especially in Python.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with other cloud providers (Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of other programming languages and scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK Stack).
  • Security and compliance expertise.
