About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Commercial Manager to join our team at Sweco. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for the commercial and cost management of projects and programs from inception to close-out.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement robust estimates aligned with project scope.
  • Manage and support commercial and procurement strategies to ensure tender processes are followed correctly.
  • Ensure subcontracts are properly prepared and reflect agreed scope, and are managed in accordance with contract.
  • Provide accurate live forecasting, taking into account project program and reporting in accordance with respective WBS/CBS.
  • Monitor and assess actual costs against baseline estimates, challenging any variance to plans.
  • Provide reports on actual costs versus estimates, identifying underlying reasons for variance and resolution.
  • Ensure Alliance contract is properly administered.
  • Oversee timely issue of early warnings and advise IPL on all matters related to compliance.
  • Ensure proper records are kept for financial information for audits and cost assurance.
  • Prepare final accounts timely and accurately.
  • Implement mitigation plans and ensure their effective implementation.
  • Proactively manage opportunities, identifying and implementing plans to realize.
  • Monitor and report on identified efficiencies, and report any variances to IPL.
  • Report any withheld, disputed, or disallowed costs to IPL.
  • Lead and manage a small team, mentoring and developing team individuals.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will ideally hold a degree-level qualification and hold either RICS/CIOB/CICES certification. You will have demonstrable experience in managing complex projects, ranging in size up to multi-million-pound projects. You will have a robust nature, be able to manage change, and feel comfortable challenging decisions. Experience in working with NEC suite of contracts, coupled with negotiating and estimating, and outstanding stakeholder management skills will be highly valued.
