**About the Role**

We are seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Support Specialist to join our team at Academics Ltd in Epsom. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work with children and young people with special educational needs.

The school's unique approach focuses on preparing students for GCSE subjects and building a curriculum that meets their individual needs. Our small class sizes of 6-8 students ensure that each student receives personalized attention and support.

You will work closely with therapists, including SALTs, occupational therapists, psychologists, and counsellors, to develop therapeutic goals and objectives for each student. Your role will be critical in helping students access further education or training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SUPPORT STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (SEN)
  • IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION TECHNIQUES IN SMALL CLASSES
  • COLLABORATE WITH THERAPISTS TO DEVELOP THERAPEUTIC GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
  • PARTNER WITH TEACHERS TO CREATE A CURRICULUM THAT MEETS STUDENT NEEDS
  • SUPPORT STUDENTS IN THEIR EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY

Requirements:

A psychology degree or specialist SEN training is highly desirable. Experience working with children and young people with SEN is essential.
