Pensions Actuarial Specialist Role

We are seeking a technically strong and experienced actuarial specialist to join our pensions team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious career-minded individual wanting a challenging and rewarding career.
The Team
Our pensions actuarial department is highly respected within the industry, advising a range of clients, including trustee and corporate schemes. We count a significant share of FTSE companies among our clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Working with clients on a variety of pension schemes, including trustee and corporate schemes
- Attending client meetings and presenting technical issues
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, managing client relationships, and providing advice on pension matters
- Leading the core work on actuarial valuations, solvency testing, and buy-in analysis
- Drafting advice documents, reviewing trust deeds and rules, and member booklets
- Reviewing individual member calculations, producing sets of factors, and specifying benefit calculations
- Calculating Pension Protection Fund levies and Actuarial Certificates of Deficit Reduction Contributions
- Preparing cash flows for asset-liability models and monitoring pension scheme funding levels
- Liaising with other client advisers to ensure efficient provision of advice
Requirements
- Qualified FIA / FFA or post-qualification experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Full knowledge of technical aspects of UK pensions work
- Supervisory experience of junior actuarial staff
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work
