Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement financial planning and analysis processes to support business decision-making
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasting
  • Oversee vendor payments and approvals, and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure accurate system records and resolve any issues
  • Develop and implement key policies and procedures, including Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Inventory, and Treasury
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT returns and other financial reports
  • Reconcile excise duty accounts and make payments as required
  • Lead the annual audit process and ensure compliance with audit requirements
  • Provide quarterly Board working capital reporting and support the CFO in financial planning and analysis
  • Manage UK and non-UK payrolls, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant with 3+ years of experience in a relevant role
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience with financial planning and analysis tools
  • Experience in working with inventory management systems and accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Strong understanding of audit and compliance requirements, including UK VAT
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide strategic insights
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience with Xero software and Cin7 WMS software
  • Experience in working in a fast-growing business and accounting for UK and international excise duties in the alcohol industry
  • International finance experience and knowledge of audit and accounting standards
