Job OverviewWe are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or support worker to join our team at a vibrant SEN school in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and wants to make a real difference in their lives.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this role is £90 per day, making it an attractive option for those looking for a flexible and rewarding career in education. As a member of our team, you will also have access to free, accredited continued professional development courses, including safeguarding and behaviour management. Our in-house Training and Development Team is dedicated to helping you grow and succeed in your role.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an SEN Teaching Assistant at Prospero Teaching, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 support to children with special educational needs in a classroom setting
- Supporting children with complex medical needs and sensory impairments
- Assisting with personal care and daily living tasks as needed
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 6 months experience in the UK
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service (or be willing to process a new application)
- Two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years
