Job Opportunity: Council Subsidy Officer

Vox Network Consultants invites applications for a Council Subsidy Officer position. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to manage the Council's subsidy claim, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Senior Subsidy Officer to produce all necessary documents and verify their accuracy.
  2. Liaise with external auditors and coordinate access to systems and reports.
  3. Organize testing required as part of the audit process.
  4. Test new software releases to ensure correct benefit awards and communicate any issues with IT.
  5. Work closely with the team and service managers to implement learning from errors.
  6. Produce regular reports on benefit caseloads.
  7. Maintain expertise on subsidy and audit processes, ensuring compliance with legislation and guidance.
  8. Identify areas for improvement and support project implementation.
  9. Carry out special tasks and assignments as needed.

Requirements:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of Benefit legislation, software, and processes.
  2. Exceptional presentation skills.
  3. Experience working in councils or housing associations.
  4. Able to analyze systems, run reports, and present data using MS Excel and other software.
  5. In-depth knowledge of DWP subsidy funding arrangements, requirements, and audit processes.
  6. Excellent communication skills with colleagues.

Working Arrangements:

  • Ongoing contract with the option to extend.
  • PAYE via Umbrella.
  • Standard Monday to Friday hours, 9am to 5pm.
  • Mainly hybrid working with one day in the North London office per week.
