Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Care Assistant to join our team at the Presbyterian Church in Ireland in Newcastle. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their independence and dignity, and upholding the Christian ethos of our organization.

About You
To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering exceptional care. Your ability to adapt to changing situations and prioritize tasks efficiently will also be essential.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal care assistance to residents, maintaining their dignity and confidentiality
* Participate in social and recreational activities to enhance residents' quality of life
* Escort residents to hospital appointments or short walks as needed
* Administer medication after completing necessary training
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident care and activities

Requirements
* Evidence of understanding and respect for the needs of older people or those with disabilities
* Awareness of Health and Safety practices within a workplace environment
* Willingness to complete relevant training, such as induction training or NVQ/QCF Level 2
* Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
* Availability for flexible working, including on-call duties at night and weekends as required
