We are seeking an exceptional Academic Researcher to join our team at the University of Cambridge's Department of East Asian Studies. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic research environment, contributing to the development of innovative projects in Japanese Studies.

As a Postdoctoral Research Training Associate, you will have the opportunity to enhance your teaching and research skills, with guidance from experienced academics. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any area of Japanese Studies, including premodern to modern periods, classical Japanese, and kanbun.

This is an exciting role for early-career researchers who want to develop their academic career prospects. This is a three-year fixed-term position. The estimated salary for this role is £40,800-£53,000 per annum, depending on experience. If you have a strong track record in research, teaching, and academic leadership, we encourage you to apply.

To be considered, please submit:

  • A Curriculum Vitae, including a list of publications.
  • A cover letter outlining your interest in the role and how your skills and experiences align with our requirements.
  • A representative piece of written work - your dissertation, a recent article, or a book chapter.

We value diversity, equality, and inclusion and welcome applications from all sections of society. Please note that the University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
