Job Description: Specialist Learning Assistant

We are currently looking for a Specialist Learning Assistant to work in a Primary aged section of a School in Bourne End, High Wycombe.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to students who require assistance with settling into the school, supporting their learning, as well as socially and emotionally.

This is a full-time role, starting ASAP or in September if needed. You will get to attend a trial day once you have passed all compliance and safeguarding checks to ensure this is the right role for you.

Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Job Requirements:
  • Dealing with situations calmly and sensitively
  • Developing strong and trusting relationships with students
  • Being a team player and working closely with other staff members and third parties
  • Caring deeply about pupils academic, emotional, and personal development and having empathy for their individual circumstances
  • Having a supportive and encouraging attitude, to inspire trust and to motivate students
  • Using their initiative in meeting the needs of the student, depending on their individual communication, and learning skills
