Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety Inspector - Civil Engineering Specialist to join our team at the Office for Nuclear Regulation. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of nuclear facilities across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulate the design, construction, testing, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of civil engineering structures at nuclear facilities.
- Assess the safety and security of nuclear facilities, including the ability of structures to withstand various hazards and faults.
- Conduct inspections, assessments, and investigations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on nuclear safety and security matters.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective regulatory strategies.
Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification in civil and/or structural engineering, or a related discipline.
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Experience of structural design, foundation design, and geotechnical engineering.
- Knowledge of nuclear facilities and high-hazard industries.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and influencing skills.
