Mental Health Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Talking Spaces service in Birmingham, providing a safe and welcoming environment for individuals aged 18+ experiencing emotional distress or mental health crises.
As Team Leader, you will be responsible for setting up and delivering the service, focusing on young people aged 18-25. You will develop engaging activities and groups that appeal to this age group, ensuring they reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of mental wellbeing, working within confidentiality frameworks and accurately recording relevant documentation. Strong communication skills are essential, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to those experiencing psychological distress.
You will provide support and supervision to the team, identifying training opportunities for individual development and maintaining annual appraisals. A confident communicator, you will feel at ease liaising with internal and external stakeholders and building strong relationships within the community.
Key skills include IT literacy, accurate documentation, and experience leading a team, developing individuals to grow in their role. The ideal candidate will be flexible, able to work shift patterns, including evenings and weekends throughout the service's opening times.
