Attendance and Welfare Officer Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Attendance and Welfare Officer to join our team in West Yorkshire. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in improving attendance across our schools and supporting vulnerable families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with families and external agencies to respond to and support student and family engagement strategies.
  • Raise the attendance of targeted families within your allocated schools.
  • Provide early intervention signposting support and guidance to prevent attendance issues.
  • Collaborate with the Safeguarding Team to implement student and family engagement strategies as part of the schools' Early Help offer.

Working Environment:

You will be working across a cluster of 3 schools, serving a diverse range of students and families. Our team is committed to creating a culture of acceptance, respect, and inclusion, and we value individual differences.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people in various settings and vulnerable families/young people who experience challenging circumstances.
  • Understanding of the barriers to learning and attending school faced by young people and how they can be overcome.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle for business use.
