About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant for Trauma Impacted Looked After Children, you will provide emotional and academic support to pupils who have experienced significant adversity.

You will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and other support staff to develop and implement tailored learning plans, ensuring each child receives the individualised attention they need to succeed.

This role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and patience when dealing with challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery
  • Providing one-to-one tutoring and small group instruction
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to ensure effective student support

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience working with children with special needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport with pupils, parents, and colleagues
