Employee Relations Advisor

About the Role
As an Employee Relations Specialist at SSP Group, you will provide professional front-line employee relations advice and support to Management Teams on all aspects of employee relations, colleague welfare, performance management, people policies, data protection, and right to work legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and support to line managers on employee relations, including ACAS guidelines, performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, whistleblowing, and appeals.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of SSP Group's people policies and guides, including maternity, adoption, paternity, shared parental leave, compassionate leave, equality and diversity, attendance management, and right to work in the UK.
- Support the implementation of SSP Group's attendance policy, including unauthorised absence, some other substantial reason (SOSR), absence without leave (AWOL), short-term absence, long-term absence, reasonable adjustments, and ill-health terminations.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including subject access requests, right to be forgotten requests, personal details correction, privileged communications, data protection policies, ICO contact, and data breaches.
- Support front-line managers with employment issues related to working time regulations, fixed-term contracts, probation periods, hours consultations, redundancy consultations, and flexible working.
Requirements:
- Up-to-date knowledge of HR legislation and best practice.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Strong administrative and IT skills.
- Experience in letter writing and building key working relationships.
- CIPD qualification or experience in HR or operations with a strong ER record.
